Cassano believes Scudetto for Milan would be ‘very similar’ to Leicester’s 2015-16 triumph

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan winning the Scudetto this season would be an achievement comparable to Leicester City’s Premier League title win in 2015-16, according to Antonio Cassano.

The Rossoneri are currently top of the league and are two points ahead of city rivals Inter but the Nerazzurri have a game in hand against Bologna on Wednesday, which means that they can essentially take true possession of first place.

Milan will not go away despite having a squad that many believe to be inferior, and their fighting spirit was on full display on Sunday night as a 92nd-minute winner from Sandro Tonali sealed a vital victory against Lazio.

Cassano spoke on Bobo TV and was asked about Milan’s chances of going on and winning the title, drawing comparison with Leicester’s miraculous league win of six years ago.

“If Milan win the title, it would be a miracle, comparable to Leicester City’s,” Cassano said (via FootballItalia).

“Many predicted Milan would finish fourth or fifth, but they are still the leaders. Paolo Maldini said something true, Milan have won the Scudetto twice in the last 20 years. It would not be the same as Leicester, but something very similar.

“Looking at Milan players, you can’t see a team that can win the title. What Stefano Pioli is doing is incredible and I am happy that the two clubs that deserve it most are fighting for the title.”

Cassano knows what it takes to win given he was with the Rossoneri for their last league-winning season in 2010-11 under Massimiliano Allegri.

  1. Milan this season predicted to finish at fourth or fifth. In the other hands, Leicester was predicted to relegate at that season. After all this year, how came Cassano still drunk

  2. Cassano doesn’t know what he is talking’s about…..Completely different story Leister and AC Milan….
First of all it’s Milan second season finishing in the top two teams…Second, AC Milan’s jersey and background is completely different to Leister….

  3. I know reporters love Cassano because he is a blithering idiot. They only interview him because they want to find out what is the next cretinous thing that will come out of his mouth. Guy is an imbecile and should be ignored.

  4. Cassano again, he is used to talk nonsense about Ac Milan and this time he drunk too much if he can compare Ac milan with Leceister who are well predicted to be relegated at that time but this Milan has top finished material..🤫🤐🤫

  5. really a ridiculous comment by him. so dumb.

I think I’m dumb for even choosing to read this article when i saw Cassano in the headline!
    hahaha

  6. I really don’t know why some people think this way???

Milan have an excellent team. Very good Goalkeeper, very good the defence and very good midfeild and attack.

Even the attack that seemed to struggle recently due to injuries is strong enough.

Giroud is a season striker who just left Chealsea recently.

Leao is developing and will play in any team in the world

Zlatan is a king if he is fit.

    Rebic is a deadly player.

Messias scored many goals for a player signed as a back up option.
