CF: Revisiting the details of Dest and Vranckx’s loan moves to Milan

By Isak Möller -

Two summer signings that have impressed lately are Sergino Dest and Aster Vranckx. As they are starting to shine more and more, it’s a good time to remember the details of the deals that brought them to AC Milan.

In the final games before the World Cup break, Dest showed glimpses of his quality and the same can be said about Vranckx. The former has continued to do well with USA at the World Cup, thus sparking hope that he can shine for Milan as well.

Calcio e Finanza (via SempreMilan.it) reports that Vranckx was signed on a €2m paid loan deal with an option to buy that will become an obligation (under certain conditions) set at €12m plus a 15% on any future resale.

The player will receive €1.5m net per season for five years should the deal be transformed from a one-year loan into a permanent deal, as per the report.

As for Dest, Barcelona let him leave on a free loan with an option to buy set at around €20m. His salary is higher – and covered entirely by Milan – with the full-back set earning €3.8m net per season.

For the Belgian, Milan will budget the loan cost of €2m and a gross salary (considering the tax relief provided for by the Growth Decree) of €1.65m, for a total of €3.65m. For Dest, only the gross salary of €4.98m, so total cost of the two operations for the season will be €8.63m.
