GdS: Milan remain interested in Kjaer’s compatriot but two factors make things difficult

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s interest in signing Andreas Christensen from Chelsea has not yet died but it seems to be a very difficult pursuit, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports how in addition to Sven Botman of Lille, Christensen is among the profiles followed by Milan to reinforce the defensive department after the season-ending injury that Simon Kjaer sustained during the 3-0 win over Genoa recently.

The 25-year-old Chelsea centre-back is only under contract until June 2022 as things stand meaning he may be available on a free transfer or a cut-price deal in January, but the operation seems very complicated for two reasons.

The first is that the Dane has a very high asking price (and salary) while the second is that the Blues are also working to secure him to a new long-term contract, so he may not even leave on the cheap anyway.

  1. Christensen as profile would be perfect for Milan. But why again high salary player like Baka? …..learn from own mistakes in the past would be a milestone in Milanelo.
