Chelsea’s injury situation ahead of crucial Milan clash as duo aim to return

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will make the trip to the English capital in midweek as they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and a round-up of the injury situation Graham Potter’s side are facing has emerged.

Potter got his first win as Chelsea boss against Crystal Palace at the weekend and it came through Conor Gallagher’s strike in injury time. Now, the focus will be on the Blues getting their first Champions League win and three points against Milan would open up Group E completely.

According to Football London, N’Golo Kante has returned to training at Cobham and Marc Cucurella is set to be available again too for the game against the Rossoneri. It is unknown whether Kante will play a part against Milan though given that he was not risked against Palace.

Potter chose Kepa Arrizabalaga over Edouard Mendy as the latter continues to battle a knee injury he sustained in the final game of Thomas Tuchel’s tenure, but he is expected to make his return on Wednesday night.
