Agent Jorge Mendes will not be the main man leading the negotiations over the renewal of Rafael Leao, according to a report.
MilanNews report that yesterday’s meeting at Casa Milan was not even really the start of negotiations over the extension of Leao’s 2024 deadline but rather served to lay the foundations in view of the near future and further talks.
Directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara spoke with the Paris-based lawyer Ted Dimvula, who legally holds the power of attorney of the Portuguese winger.
A key clarification has therefore arrived as it will be Dimvula who will carry out the negotiations with Milan in the name and on behalf of Leao, meaning the influence of Mendes seems to have thinned out.
Until a few months ago the Portuguese agent looked after the interests of Leao in the midst of a whirlwind of signed powers of attorney that created quite a bit of chaos. All parties are eager to settle the dispute with Sporting CP which sees Leao jointly condemned with Lille to pay compensation of €16.5m.
