Club Brugge head coach Carl Hoefkens has given some interesting comments amid rumours Charles De Ketelaere appears destined to join AC Milan.
According to multiple sources such as Di Marzio, De Ketelaere is close to becoming a Milan player and the step he took yesterday helped, as the 21-year-old gave up a part of his salary in order to facilitate the negotiations between the two clubs and reach a closure.

Hoefkens spoke at a pre-match press conference ahead of Brugge’s trip to face Eupen on Sunday at 16:00 CEST and he was asked about De Ketelaere’s current situation – given he has not been training for a few days – and the potential of him joining Milan.
“As a coach, I want everyone who is present at the training centre to be able to do their best and give 100% at all times. If there is someone who indicates that they are physically, tactically or mentally unable to go to the maximum, it is my job to face him,” he said (via MilanPress).
“I have to talk to him and see what the situation is like. In this case it was no longer possible for Charles to go to the maximum. He said that he was too mentally affected and that he was afraid of getting injured during training. There was only one conclusion: no more training with the group.”
On his possible transfer: “At the moment there is still nothing official and I only care about the guys who are here.”
On if he is disappointed with De Ketelaere’s behaviour: “No, I have known Charles for a long time and he was closely involved in the project. Sometimes it happens that there are other thoughts, it could be the case now. But I try to avoid it as much as possible and focus on the players who are 100% present.”
On a word of advice for him: “Keep doing the same thing you have done here for a long time.”
It could be that after weeks of varying reports and sources conflicting each other, the soap opera may finally come to an end with De Ketelaere ready to start a new adventure abroad.

Absolutely, and I hope all the people who compared De Ketelaere to Merdanoglu and Faivre will read this article because it’s obvious this boy is humble and is a great guy after all he cut his wage to join us and still lives with his parents. I’m sure a bad attitude guy like Merdanoglu of Faivre does not/did not live with their parents during their professional footballing days

Emeka is right though. Living with the parents is a complete non sequitur and has zero bearing on a person’s professional attitude. You can point to other things but not that….it’s absurd.
If unmarried young man leave his parents house to live on his own yet still in the same town of his parents, what could be the reason? Freedom? Independence? From what? Restriction from parents?
CdK still live with his parents means he is a good kid who listen to the advise from his parents.
It should be noted that living on his own does not necessarily means the opposite. There could be other reasons.
Living with your parents means you have more restraints. There are certain things you won’t do. He could live alone and still be a good guy though, but when you realise that at that age, earning lots of money, it is easier to get into vices that can compromise your professional life.
Living with your parents helps you deal with the certain pressures. Except you have ‘bad’ parents. It was nice to read that his Mum was in Milan looking for a house. Milan may just get another level-headed player like Kaka.
Again, to reiterate: it is possible to live away from your parents and still be level-headed, especially if you’re married. Hope CdK has a glorious career with Milan.

Living with your parents does not guarantee you’re all of a sudden this holy kid. Matter of fact I partied more when I was with my parents and treated them worse than when I wasn’t. What I was trying to say with the he lives with his parents is the fact that people assumed he had a bad attitude and was high of himself and was arrogant in comments of previous articles but the fact he’s in his professional career and he’s still living with his parents signifies that he’s humble and what’s the opposite of humble someone arrogant with a bad attitude therefore I was trying to explain that, apologies if I did not go into enough detail to elaborate

I have learned a long time ago that If your parents are alive and good people, cares about you.. you need to not only just live with them, you need to spend as much time as you can with them while you still CAN and take care of them.
