AC Milan appear to be moving closer to the signing of Ardon Jashari with Club Brugge now looking at replacements, Matteo Moretto reports.
It appears to be a very busy day at Casa Milan as AC Milan are advancing on multiple fronts with regards to the midfield. Several sources have reported that Milan are now very close to sealing a deal worth €22m plus bonuses for Torino’s Samuele Ricci, but he is not the only ongoing negotiation.

In fact, MilanNews then went on to state that Milan have budgeted around €35m for the signing of Jashari (including add-ons), which they hope will be enough to get the Swiss to join the Italian in a new-look midfield.
Brugge seek Jashari’s replacement
Matteo Moretto spoke on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel about the situation of Jashari and whether he too could make a big-money move to Milan.
“Brugge are already looking for a player who can replace Jashari. Brugge have already understood that Jashari will leave, they are open to letting him go for the right offer: I understand that it should be 35 million as a fixed base. Milan will try to get as close as possible,” he said (via MilanNews).
“Let’s see if the efforts of Milan, perhaps combined with the will of the player, even if the player has many other offers – be careful, he doesn’t only have Milan – will lead to the definitive closure of the deal. But Brugge are looking for a replacement for Jashari.”
If ricci costs 22 mil without bonuses, there’s no way that this guy is worth anything close to 35 mill. Forget it and move on
If this team is getting ricci modric and xhaka, the rest of the midfield we have is enough and I really like lotus cheek as well, I know he was disappointing this season but the season before he was fantastic and if Allegri can get him back to that, he if better than spending 35-40 mil on this guy

I don’t think it’s delusion, but I think you might be off on your misunderstanding.
The interview you’re talking about has a long part of it dedicated to how the value in sports is IP (ie the brand) and the ‘ROI’ bit is either referring to the investor interview in 2024 where he’s talking about how business and sports align through ‘ROI on goal efficiency’ (just buzzwords, but basically saying you need a team that’s greater than the sum of its parts), or a 2023 interview where he’s talking about his job is to get returns for his investors (by growing the value of assets on Redbird’s books).
Look, I think they’re doing a pretty poor job in many regards, especially the sporting planning side, over the last two years. But player sales are not making them money, because that money isn’t coming out of the club. The aim of those sales is to reinvest and find better value players… They’re failing at it, but it makes sense as a goal – many big teams in the world operate that way.
Where does the money go from sales? It’s reinvested in the squad. Complaining about Tonali’s sale, when he went on to get banned for a year, proves you’re unhinged. The sale was a masterstroke and you would have been the first one crying had he stayed and then been banned because you’re a hypocrite. Reijnders was sold because we’re in debt. Brugge might be okay developing and selling without having any other sporting goal in mind. But the way I see it using that as a metric for Milan would not be utmost.

What is there to forget about TJ… He was average at best… Try and compare his attributes to Jashari and u will understand how he was our greatest problem last season… He played in d double pivot with little or no defensive contributions… He was a runner, couldn’t even make simple crisp passes ..TJ was just a runner and scores smash n grab goals to cover his shortcomings… I was happy to be rid of him anyways
