CM: AC Milan turn to other targets despite agreement with Deulofeu

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have turned their attentions away from signing winger Gerard Deulofeu this summer, according to a report.

The Spaniard enjoyed an impressive loan spell with the Rossoneri in the second half of the 2016-17 campaign, but then chose to move back to Barcelona.

He then moved to Premier League outfit Watford after struggling for game time, and he has impressed for the Hornets, scoring 10 goals and adding five assists in 30 Premier League games this season.

According to Calciomercato.com, Leonardo ‘really likes the player’ however the club have decided instead to pursue other targets in the upcoming window.

Deulofeu for his part likes Milan and would welcome a return to San Siro, and the club apparently have a verbal agreement with the Pozzo family – who own Watford – that if they make a suitable offer he will be allowed to leave.

The price in question would be €40million, but Leonardo seems to have other ideas now, and as with a lot of the mercato strategy it is down to which European competition Milan are in next season.
