Real Madrid have made the decision to bring Brahim Diaz back to base and they will soon extend his contract, according to a report.
According to Calciomercato.com, the farewell of Marco Asensio towards Paris Saint-Germain has sped up an idea that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has had in his mind for several months now: to bring Brahim back to the Spanish capital.
Negotiations over a contract until 2027 have reached the final stages and the end is in sight. Just the last details remain to be resolved and then the attacking midfielder from Malaga will be even more deeply tied to Los Blancos.
The idea, shared with the coaching staff, is to include Diaz in next season’s squad, at least for the entire preseason. He will be part of the training camp until mid-August with the aim of convincing Carlo Ancelotti he is ready for a place in the rotations.
At this stage, Milan have other problems to solve and will not try again with Real Madrid to get Díaz. Stefano Pioli would still like him but the management have no intention of paying the €22m option to by verbally agreed in the loan deal.
