CM: Chelsea declare themselves out of running for Milan star as they put faith in €25m man

By Oliver Fisher -

Chelsea have ruled themselves out of the running to land AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to a report.

The Rossoneri face a tricky situation regarding the renewal of the 21-year-old Italy international as his current contract is set to expire in June 2021.

It was recently reported by Calciomercato.it that Chelsea, PSG, Juventus and Real Madrid have set their sights on Gigio but the goalkeeper’s will is to remain at Milan and sign a new deal, something which has never changed and plays perfectly into the Rossoneri’s hands ahead of talks with Mino Raiola.

However, according to Calciomercato.com – who cite sources in England – Chelsea have made it clear that they will not go in for Donnarumma on a free transfer.

The reason for this is very simple: the club firmly believe in Edouard Mendy who they signed in the summer transfer window from Rennes in a deal worth €25m (as per Wikipedia).
