CM: Como come back in for versatile Milan man after initial rejection

Como are making another attempt to sign full-back Filippo Terracciano from AC Milan after seeing their first effort rebuffed, according to a report.

It has been widely reported that the newly-promoted Como are beginning to look at other options for the right-back role having run into difficulties with Copenhagen in the negotiations over Diks, who they do not want to sell.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Como asked Milan for information about Terracciano but the negotiations did not get very far because the player made it clear that he wishes to stay with the Rossoneri.

However, Cesc Fabregas’ side are now trying again and have opened another dialogue to see if they can persuade the versatile defender to join them, especially after he was snubbed during Saturday’s season opener against Torino with Alexis Saelemaekers playing left-back instead.

Terracciano was Milan’s only signing of the 2024 January transfer window as he arrived from Hellas Verona for around €4.5m, and yet due to a lack of playing time he became somewhat of a forgotten man until he gave away a penalty right at the death in a home draw with Bologna.

The 21-year-old is able to play both full-back positions but also as a centre-back and even a central midfielder.

  1. This fool hasn’t had a single noteworthy performance so far, that’s the sad and hard truth. Well, at least I guess he’s useful in terms of lists and squad registration and all that stuff…

    1. He’s been given far more chances than our youth players.

It’s not just players from foreign leagues but anyone who some director of sport has decided to spend money on that gets preferential treatment.

It seems more about justifying the decision of some director than the player’s ability.

  2. Sell him for any amount they’re offering. Terrible player. The person who signed him for 6m in the first place should have his head checked.

    1. His signing had been so damaging because it blocked other players.

Every minute he spent on the pitch players like Bartesaghi were denied crucial minutes.

That is why every signing needs to be carefully considered. There should be no such thing as a throw away signing just because it’s January and some director needs to justify their existence.

  3. He should be sold. Aside from being Italian he offers nothing. Horrible signing. Rather give Bastiraghi a chance instead

  4. This kid hasn’t had a stable season to gain consistency anywhere not in Verona and not in Milan. He’s been playing everywhere from CB, RB, RM, RW, CM, LB.

I’d give him a shot in the midfield. He played one match as an inverted fullback with Pioli and when he stepped into the middle he was a completely different player. His positional awareness and movements in the middle as a DM were quite on point.

I mean if they’re playing Saele everywhere why not give this kid a shot as well. We’re in need of a DM and he just might surprise.
