CM: €40m Chelsea flop tells Milan he wants return – Rossoneri not keen for one reason

By Oliver Fisher -

A possible return to AC Milan for Chelsea-owned midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko seems a long way off at present, a report has claimed.

A number of different outlets have reported that the Frenchman wishes to have a second spell with the Rossoneri after impressing on loan under Gennaro Gattuso in 2018-19.

We reported last week that Bakayoko does indeed want to rejoin Milan this summer as Monaco will not exercise their €40million option to buy, and that while the Diavolo could launch a new loan bid (with option) the deciding say will be down to incoming boss Ralf Rangnick.

According to what Calciomercato.com are reporting, it is certainly no mystery that the 25-year-old feels a strong attachment to Milan and has sent signals to the club regarding his willingness to return.

However, at the moment there are no contacts. The cost of the player’s salary and the fee it would take to sign him (presumable €40m) are not in line with the project that Milan’s owners Elliott Management Corporation want to enforce.
