CM: Fiorentina could re-ignite interest in out-of-favour Milan defender this summer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Davide Calabria may become the subject of an offer from Fiorentina this summer, according to a report.

Stefano Pioli has struggled for consistency on the right side of his defence as both Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti have not found form week-in week-out, plus they have both been affected by suspensions and injuries.

There have been reports of a potential revolution in that particular position in the summer – as well as virtually all areas of the club – which would see both the aforementioned sold with a number of targets being monitored.

According to Calciomercato.com, Calabria may be able to stay in Italy as Fiorentina could once again emerge as an escape route for the Primavera product.

La Viola – along with LaLiga side Sevilla – have been credited with interest in a move for Calabria over the last few months, and the outlet states that if Daniele Prade remains as the sporting director in Florence, the interest could become more concrete.

Calabria’s sale would represent a pure capital gain for the Rossoneri, which is important given the current poor health of the balance sheets.
