CM: Fiorentina give Milenkovic ultimatum as Milan remain attentive at the window

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan may be able to take advantage of Nikola Milenkovic’s contract situation to land a long-term target, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com are reporting that while there should be no problems renewing the contract of striker Dusan Vlahovic, Milenkovic is a much more difficult situation.

The Serbia international is currently on a deal which expires in 2022, and while Fiorentina still want to make an attempt to convince Milenkovic to extend, they have set a deadline of Christmas to resolve his future.

If the centre-back does not accept the terms proposed by La Viola, it is likely that they would have to sell the player in order to remove the risk of losing him on a free transfer. Milenkovic for his part has no intention of holding the club to ransom and wants to find a solution that satisfies all parties.

The Serbia international is certainly a much sought-after player, given his young age and the qualities he has already shown, and Milan made an official offer in the summer of €15m which was considered too low.

If he does not sign a renewal, then La Viola will have to be ready to lower their claims, perhaps finding themselves metting halfway with a club that have concrete interest.
