AC Milan will not give up on the idea of signing Armando Broja and CEO Giorgio Furlani is personally pushing to land him, a report claims.
According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Furlani along with his colleagues Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D’Ottavio is of the belief that another striker is needed to provide an alternative option to Olivier Giroud.
There are a few names on the list but the one that is top of the pile is Broja. The 21-year-old Albanian is recovering from a serious injury (rupture of the cruciate ligament) and has been out since December.
However, he is back now and he needs consistent playing time in order to get into a rhythm again, so a season spent mostly on the bench – as it looks like it would be at Chelsea – is perhaps not the ideal situation for him.
Furlani himself is taking steps to negotiate with the player’s entourage and to explain Milan’s project to him, while he is also talking with the Chelsea management to try and set up a negotiation.
After an initial refusal, given the Blues’ need to have a striker in the squad after Christopher Nkunku’s injury and the situation around Romalu Lukaku, Furlani is trying to convince Todd Boehly and his team.
The Rossoneri are trying for a loan with option to buy deal and an assist could come from Chelsea’s incoming operations, given they are trying to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace for around €40m and he would be the cover for Nkunku.
If Chelsea stand first, Plan B corresponds to the name of Hugo Ekitike. Milan will try to get back in touch with PSG even if their asking price is €30m and there is no possibility of a loan at present.
Then, Furlani and co. will be called upon to decide on Lorenzo Colombo’s future given the loan interest from Genoa and Cagliari, as well as Divock Origi’s fate.
Olise RW Broja ST totally different positions so nope Sign Santiago Gimenez
I guess we all dream of a prolific scorer with the potential to become capocannoniere. Giroud is good but inconsistent and he’s getting older, a striker should have been a priority for this mercato.
Back at Chelsea’s trash with another unproven bench warmer, that just come back from a huge injury, or Ekitike a depth player for PSG that didn’t convince last season despite Mbappé/Neymar/Messi missing many L1 games.
They dont have choice . Colombo insist go on loan and dont want become giroud deputy. We still have origi but he is unreliable perhaps maybe just 3rd choice striker. We missed alejo veliz and now only few young striker available. Broja or eikitike , not good choice but if only that two available then better eikitike ( french and we have many frenchman in ACM that can help him adaptation)
The management are a bit confused. We need a striker who scores 20 goals per season, not 20 goals in their whole career.
This!!!
…and the indiscriminate shopping spree of Furolani is not about to stop…
… because the previous management failed miserably the last mercato.
No sir.
Even with the last mercato which you deemed failed, the team still technically placed fifth.
So, technically four or five strategic signings, at the most six were enough. Instead, the new management is intent on outdoing the Fassone-Mirabelli fiasco.
Rather than the coach to ask for a quality DM, he decided that Krunic is perfect for the role. Then Furolani went to town picking up every piece of shiny toy he could find to pacify fans like you.
Here are Milan’s major signings of the window: Chukwueze, Pulisic, Musah, Reijnders, Loftus-Cheek, Okafor, Romero. That’s seven, so only one more than you’re number of six. Romero is 18 and basically a future prospect who will be mostly a backup, so he almost doesn’t count. So that’s basically six “targeted” signings. The mistake in this group, if there is one, is Okafor. We had enough cover for the flanks as it is before they signed him. That money should have gone to a striker (like Veliz).
“Even with the last mercato which you deemed failed, the team still technically placed fifth.”
So, for a scudetto winning team that only needed 2-3 reinforcements finishing next season 5th is a success?????? Wow. Talk about ambitions, eh. The mercatos aren’t meant for downgrading the team, it’s about fixing the flaws and improving the squad.
i hope we getting on loan with option to buy deal ,Armando Broja is strong and quick at the same time and faster then average = lot of potential hard too find players like that available , i support this deal 100%
