CM: What the future holds for Marko Lazetic – Milan have no doubts

Marko Lazetic has only made one appearance with the first team of AC Milan but it’s already clear that he’s a prospect for the future. Between scoring for the Primavera and the Serbian U19 side, his quality is obvious.

The youngster, aged 18, arrived from Red Star Belgrade in January of this year for a fee of €4m. Since then, he has been working mainly with the Primavera but has also made one appearance for the first team: the Coppa Italia defeat to Inter.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Lazetic has done really well with the U19 side of Serbia, scoring five goals in 12 games. Due to injuries, however, we haven’t seen loads of him for the Primavera side since his arrival.

After a promising pre-season this summer, though, he bagged his first goal for the Primavera side in the UCL clash against Dinamo Zagreb recently. It was a well-taken goal with his weaker foot and it really showed what he’s capable of.

Lazetic rejected several loan opportunities this summer as he made it clear that he wants continuity with the Primavera side. Paolo Maldini and Massara expect a lot from him, but they also know that he’s a name for the future and not necessarily the present.
