CM.it: Sacrifice of star midfielder cannot be ruled out as Tonali continues to grow

By Oliver Fisher -

It cannot be ruled out that AC Milan sell Ismael Bennacer this summer and use the money to strengthen other areas, a report claims.

Calciomercato.it have published a report looking at the future of loanee Fikayo Tomori, claiming that the €28m option to buy built into his loan deal is currently deemed too high by Milan, so they could try raise cash or use funds designated for other areas in order to keep him.

As part of the report, the source claims that the future of Ismael Bennacer must also be carefully evaluated. Should an irrefutable offer arrive, Milan could consider the sale of the midfielder and then make Sandro Tonali a permanent starter. The former Brescia star has been showing talent in recent weeks and is exactly the kind of profile that the management want to focus on strongly.

These are dynamics and hierarchies that will be evaluated in the coming months, but Tomori certainly had a great impact and now Milan want to keep him.

  1. Pure speculation, but I imagine it’s much more likely that they do not renew Calhanoglu and shift to a three man midfield.

  2. That’s stupid.Bennacer will get fit at some point. He is just 23….keep him and play a 3 man midfield of Tonali,Kessie and Bennacer….with a front 3 of Hauge,Leao and Rebic….unless it’s 50 Million…. don’t sell him and the move must be to a team outside Serie A. That 50M would allow us to keep Tomori and Diaz…but that’s pure speculation

  3. Hakan should be sold because he is inconsistent. Agreed; a 3 man midfield of Sandro, Frank and Ismael and hopefully an advance three of Thauvin, Leao and Rebic ( PS that would have been a better 3 swapping out Rebic for Andre Silva!)
