CM: Juventus accelerate pursuit of Milan midfielder with ‘agreement close’ – their offer

By Oliver Fisher -

Juventus are pressing hard to sign Hakan Calhanoglu on a free transfer as his renewal with AC Milan has still not arrived, a report claims.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Calhanoglu has been negotiating a renewal with Milan for months but he already has a very attractive offer from the Bianconeri. From Turin they are willing to guarantee him €5m net per season, a figure that the Rossoneri have not matched so far.

Calhanoglu’s future is far from written and in Turin they are sure that the offer presented will definitively shake the player and the entourage, but of course – as with everything – the Champions League could be the key.

With Juventus out of the competition and Milan in, many things could change. With higher revenues, Maldini could perhaps receive the green light from Elliott for a slight tweak to the €4m salary proposal presented a few months ago. Moreover, at Juve the management who want him today may no longer be there in a few weeks.

The games are not done, but in recent weeks Juve have taken increasingly concrete steps for Calhanoglu and have found the door far from closed. Daniele Longo even writes on Twitter that ‘an agreement is close’.
