CM: Kessie dominates the derby – after the renewal of Milan’s big three it’s his turn

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not just focusing on the renewals of three of their players whose deals expire next June, but also a fourth player under contract until 2022.

It has been quite an impressive few months for midfielder Franck Kessie, who seemed very sellable during the last January window but has now established himself as one of the most reliable performers in Stefano Pioli’s side.

He dominated the midfield in the challenge against Brozovic, Vidal, Barella, Eriksen and co. over the weekend, but now attention once again turns towards his contract situation.

Milan are obviously looking at the urgent renewals of Hakan Calhanoglu, Gianluigi Donnarumma and even Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but Calciomercato.com report that the management are keen on avoiding another race against time by resolving Kessie’s future soon.

Inter were keen on the player with Conte keen to bring him to the Nerazzurri, while Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso was also very interested in reuniting with the Ivorian.

Kessie’s renewal will be a priority for the Rossoneri club after fixing the big three of Donnarumma, Ibrahimovic and Calhanoglu. A first meeting with his agent in August, has already happened: the will of Milan is to continue together and to transform the big three into the fab four.
