CM: Kessie has become Milan’s talisman – several clubs are after him but he wants to stay

The stats show how important Franck Kessie is to AC Milan and this will be reflected soon in a new contract, according to a report.

Kessie has had ups and downs since joining from Atalanta back in summer 2017, but over the last few months he has really begun to develop at a staggering rate, forming a frightening double pivot with Ismael Bennacer.

As Calciomercato.com reports, Kessie has become somewhat of a talisman, statistically too. The Ivorian has scored 18 times since joining Milan and on all these occasions the Rossoneri remained unbeaten, with a record of 14 wins and two draws.

The fact therefore is simple: when Kessie scores, Milan never lose. It appears as though the 23-year-old could be in line to take back penalty responsibilities too, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic has failed to convert four of his last six spot kicks, while Kessie has scored nine out of 10.

The report adds that Kessie is considered irreplaceable and soon the hope is that he will pen a new contract to extend his current deal, which is set to expire in June 2022. There is no shortage of admirers around Europe, but the mutual will is to move forward together.

“I never thought about leave, this shirt is a second skin,” Kessie said recently, putting the ball firmly in the club’s court.
