Alessio Romagnoli’s contract will expire at the end of the season and several clubs are interested in his services, including Lazio. The latter are now pushing for an agreement, a report claims.
The Milan captain has been in talks with the club over a renewal but the parties have been unable to reach an agreement thus far. He wants €3m plus bonuses, while Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have put €2.8m plus bonuses on the table.
As reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Lazio are very keen on signing Romagnoli (who’s a boyhood Lazio fan) and they want to accelerate an agreement to anticipate the competition of Juventus.
One of their current centre-back, Luiz Felipe, is expected to leave on a free and join Real Betis in the summer. He has been offered €3m per season and that’s the same amount Lazio have offered to Romagnoli (plus bonuses).
Given that Milan’s current offer is inferior, you can understand why Romagnoli is evaluating his future, especially since he’s a Lazio fan.
