CM: Milan ‘all-in’ on Jonathan David – the striker’s response and Furlani’s plan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to go ‘all-in’ for Jonathan David of Lille and the player would be open to making the move next summer, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan will make an attempt to sign Juan Miranda from Real Betis in January as the deputy to Theo Hernandez, but perhaps more importantly they will try to agree a deal for Jonathan David in view of next season.

In football the player’s will always has a notable specific weight, as Milan found out this summer in each of their negotiations, and Milan have gained the ‘strong approval’ of the striker who has various offers and is destined to leave Lille in 2024.

The Canadian international, it should be remembered, has a contract expiring in 2024 and has not yet opened up to a possible renewal which means Lille are likely to be forced into selling.

CEO Giorgio Furlani could become the key to this operation, even more so than in the others already concluded. He can leverage excellent relations with Lille to try to close the operation in January with a view to next summer.

At the moment this is a possibility that is being carefully examined but it cannot be ruled out that the club could soon move on to the operational phase.

  1. Ac Milan should end this back-and-forth and go for Victor Okoh Boniface of the Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen. He is one of the most inform stickers in the world right now. He is known for his strength, skills, pace and finishing inside. Forza Milan!

      1. They will not sell him for anything less than 60M, another name I would have liked was Santiago Gimenez that to seem out of budget, he would cost around 40-50M, we were linked with Benjemin Sesko too, but he is a striker you can see leaving for Prem in 1–2 seasons for 100M.

          1. Not really, he is in his last year of his contract, and we have good relations with us, so I can see us getting him for 40M. It’s not like many top clubs are interested in him.

  2. If we look in past mercato, we missed a lot with De Ketelaere who played in Belgium.
Many players which arrived from France was good investments.
In England we only missed with bringing Bakayoko.

If we manage to bring David, and for example, Giroud continues for one more year, with Jovic who must show something to stay, than in summer 2025, after Kjaer exit, we need to bring only 1 good defender.
That could be best sustainable position for the club: if manage to spend around 50 million per year on only 1 player to upgrade the squad, without players sale.
Of course, selling best player shifting this position.

  3. there is always a chance for Milan to make provisions for players that the management agrees on. So if the Canadian is liked by Pioli and if Pioli is still around in the summer of 2024, then I am all for it.

I do think there aren’t many good options out there currently. I mean even at the top end of strikers who are available to buy. There isn’t a player Milan would do wonders with. I think Tarami was a solid option. But for a player who is young and capable, then David seems like a good option.

  4. Teremi Moffi suit AC Milan style out of bunch out there as he is a complete striker and play with his back the opponent’s 18 yard box, strong left foot, strong in the air and equally technically gifted.

  5. Hope for a fool in england to activated Leao clausing and then use the money plus some additional own pocket to get both Kvara and Osimhen. i can dreamed lol.

  6. Please please ,don’t think so far ahead ,,think of this season ..Olivier Giroud is still class ,,,don’t ever write him off …He will score goals again soon ,,,hopefully starting against Dortmund ..He needs decent crosses into him ,,not just hopeful balls pumped forward,,he need crosses delivered from the wings ,,when defenders are facing outward ,,,do that and he will score …like I have already said so many times ,,,he will score around 20 goals in all competitions this season.
I have complete faith in Olivier ,even at his age .
I have complete confidence in our team ,in our squad and our manager pioli …We can definitely win the scuddeto this season ,,of course that depends upon other factors,,such as a fit squad with fewer injuries.
Can we beat Dortmund,,,I hope so …if not then I would definitely settle for the scuddeto..
Unfortunately we have lost Loftus cheek ,hopefully he will be back soon …I rate him very much ,,as I do pulisic ..Tomori has been superb at the back for us .
Rafeo leao ,what can I say ,he has ability to cause problems for any defence …
So things are looking good at the moment.
This is the best Milan team squad we have had for a while ..
