CM: Milan change strategy in pursuit of Kaio Jorge as competition emerges – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have changed their strategy regarding their pursuit of Kaio Jorge amid competition from Portugal, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com reports that Milan consider Jorge to be the ideal third striker to bring in and complete the attacking department alongside Olivier Giroud alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara strongly believe in the qualities of the Brazilian player and have reached an agreement in principle with his entourage over a €5m commission amount if he were to join for free.

Milan had put forward an amount totalling €6m when including bonuses to try and beat the competition but Santos want €10m, and Benfica have also shown an interest now. For their part, Santos have his replacement lined up in Cristian Arango.

In the meantime, the position of Milan has also changed as they have made new assessments on the economic investment to be made given his deal expires in 5 months. That is why they have reformulated their offer to €2-3m, revising it downwards therefore.
