CM: Milan confident about Camarda after meeting despite Dortmund pressure

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are now confident of being able to announce Francesco Camarda’s renewal over the summer after some positive dialogues took place in recent days, a report claims.

According to the latest update from Calciomercato.com, there were some initial hiccups that arose during the discussions with Camarda and his entourage over a first professional deal with Milan, but the feeling is that these have been overcome.

Last week there was a very positive meeting at the club headquarters between Milan and his agents, which mark probably the first step towards the more operational phase of the negotiation. The parties have remained in constant contact even in the last few hours and now a deal seems to be very close.

An agreement has been reached in principle, so now important details must be defined. What emerges from the management is caution until the time comes for Camarda to sign his first pro contract, scheduled for early July.

The duration will be three years, which is the maximum established by federal rules on players who have just turned 16. If he were to sign it now then it could only be two years, hence the desire to wait a couple of months.

Milan and Camarda had already reached a basis of agreement several months ago which then failed to materialise for a whole series of reasons, mostly due to economic factors and what the plan is for his future.

Camarda’s representatives are now convinced of the strength of the U23 project, of which the 16-year-old will be one of the pillars to build around. First, however, he must sign that deal in July and stop Borussia Dortmund’s advances for the time being.

  1. Some people are delusional if they think the new management give a damn to keep potential kids like Camarda. Watch it how Gerry and Furlani turn Milan like Ajax.
