CM: Milan continue talks with agent as €35m Fiorentina star reaches contract crossroads

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not giving up on trying to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic this summer, a report claims, but it will not be easy.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milenkovic has taken a few days to reflect upon his future before informing Fiorentina of his decision.

He is at a crossroads with two options: to renew his contract – which expires in 2022 – or to try and force an exit. Fiorentina owner and president Commisso has done his part as he has shown his willingness to extend Milenkovic’s deal with a significant pay rise from the current €800k per year.

He has even promised a Chiesa-style agreement which basically means to stay for one more year and then the Serbia international can leave for the right price.

Milenkovic appreciates Fiorentina’s efforts, the report claims, while the Florence club want to sacrifice Pezzella, but the 22-year-old is ambitious.

Milan for their part continue to speak with his agent Fali Ramadani, to whom it has reiterated its willingness to try and find a deal, even in recent days.

Milenkovic’s possible refusal to renew his contract could be a worrying sign for Fiorentina, who could then sell at a price starting from €35m.
