CM: Milan could battle Inter for Monaco midfielder in January

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could battle rivals Inter for the signing of Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to a report.

The Ligue 1 side have not had a good start to the season, sitting next-to-bottom in the league with just two points from their opening five games.

Fabregas is one of the players who has drawn huge criticism from supporters given that he is on a three-year deal worth over €120k-a-week (as per capology).

He has made just two appearances for Monaco so far in the league this season, and Calciomercato.it claim that the hypothesis of a move to Italy could emerge once again.

Milan director Boban admitted that a major regret of the recent mercato is that more experience did not arrive, and the report states that the Rossoneri could move for the Spaniard to help reinforce the midfield.

However they may have to battle Inter for Fabregas’ signature, the outlet adds, as Antonio Conte could look to sign a big name for his midfield if they are still within reach in the Scudetto race.
