CM: Milan could ‘rely on relations with Real Madrid’ to sign €25m playmaker

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could return to the idea of signing Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz in the January transfer window, a report claims.

Spanish journalist Arancha Rodriguez (via Mundo Deportivo), reported in August that Milan were interested in a move for Brahim Diaz.

The 20-year-old played just nine times in LaLiga last season, scoring one goal, and has played just eight minutes of competitive action in 2019-20 so far.

According to Calciomercato.it, Diaz has become ‘a new potential market opportunity for Stefano Pioli and Milan’.

They cite a report from Spanish newspaper AS which apparently states that Real Madrid have put Diaz on the market just a year after he joined from Manchester City in a €25million deal.

Diaz is clearly not in Zinedine Zidane’s plans and the club’s leadership have ‘ordered the player’s entourage to find new accommodation’.

The report concludes by adding that Milan could rely on their ‘excellent relations with the Madrid leadership’, as seen in the deal which brought Theo Hernandez to San Siro in a €20m deal this summer.
