CM: Milan could sign teenage midfielder from Chelsea on loan with option deal

By Oliver Fisher -

New names continue to be linked with AC Milan each day, and the latest idea seems to be a Chelsea midfielder that is not Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com, chief scout Geoffrey Moncada and his team have no shortage of ideas when it comes to how to strengthen the midfield, but it seems like Youri Tielmans can be crossed off the list.

An offer of €3m net per season was not enough to convince Tielemans to join Milan, as he has chosen to stay in the Premier League and signed a long-term contract with Aston Villa worth €5m per year.

CEO Giorgio Furlani doesn’t want to stand by and is ready to move for an alternative target: Carney Chukwuemeka. He is considered one of the best talents in English football, with an imposing physique and good technique.

Chukwuemeka and Milan were already linked back in the summer of 2022 when Massara and Maldini presented a €15m bid to Aston Villa. In the end Chelsea paid €24m, beating the competition from the Rossoneri.

Now Moncada has returned to office to try and sign Chukwuemeka and he could arrive on loan with an option to buy. The 19-year-old wants more playing time, and at the beginning of next week Milan are planning talks.

  1. Let’s get this straight, Pioli is going to play a 19 year old reserve player, ahead of Primavera players who reached the SF of the UCL?

    1. If he’s a better fit than them, then why not? He’s a reserve behind Kante and Enzo Fernandez.

Not sure if would be a great move for him though, if he’d be firth choice reserve at Chelsea he’d probably be the same at Milan. I could be wrong, maybe he’s seen as stepping in for Bennacer until he’s fit again.

    2. I don’t understand the sentimentality of these fans. Football is a business. Play the best players on the squad whether they’ve been there for a decade or arrived on the bus that morning.

      1. Which sentimentality? We have Eletu who refused to sign a new contract just a couple of days ago as he probably wants to play. We will sign a player in his position, 1 year older than him, and in the end pay at least 20M as Chelsea won’t give him for free + let a young player from our Primavera team go for free? That is called idiocy…Nothing sentimental about being reasonable and using the young talents you have at the club instead of signing others…

  2. Player level tielemans only offered by milan 3m. Man,, hes another level, must be 4-5m / years. Thats why he choose Villa. This management must be learn lots from mercato. Here we go free agent american style!! Yeahh…

  3. And he is better than Eletu?
    Absolutely sure about that?
If not, why not give Eletu a chance instead of filling up non-EU spot and restraining squad registration for CL even further?

    1. Bro, you are right but not going to happen if we just check the recent history. We got Kerkez for nothing and he was visibly great in Primavera. Pioli did not bother to give him 5 minutes in the first team, not even in some unimportant match. And Theo was playing injured that season with Dalot covering LB. And the season after they signed Ballo-Toure, of course he left, it is an insult to a young player to bring that guy in front of you. That is why Eletu will probably leave, why would he stay if he won’t get any game time and half of Europe wants him…

        1. When you really observe Pioli, you’ll see that he doesn’t really give new or young players a chance, until injury forces his hand, when he has no other option.

Kalulu only started playing after injuries to the back line. Thiaw only played because of the same reasons.
