CM: Milan eye long-term Bennacer partner – €90m Liverpool, Man Utd linked duo mentioned

AC Milan are looking for the long-term partner to midfield sensation Ismael Bennacer, a report claims, with two names on the list.

Having arrived from Empoli as part of a summer window which saw six players sign for the Rossoneri, Bennacer has been a mainstay in the Milan XI under head coach Stefano Pioli.

However, he has not found much consistency around him, with a number of different midfield combinations being used. According to Calciomercato.com, Paolo Maldini and Zvonomir Boban are looking to change that.

Their report states that Franck Kessie and Rade Krunic do not give the right guarantees to Pioli, so a new play will be sought in the summer transfer window.

One of the names mentioned is Sandro Tonali, but his €50million price tag makes it a difficult deal to pull off, especially given reports of interest from Liverpool, Manchester United, Juventus and Inter among others.

Calciomercato adds that it would be easier to try and rekindle the deal with Benfica for Florentino Luis – a player also linked with Manchester United and one who Milan held talks over signing in a €40m deal during January, but that is another pursuit that would have a thousand variables.
