AC Milan are in talks with CSKA Moscow over the potential signing of attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic, according to a report.
The latest from Calciomercato.com reports that Milan made enquiries at the end of last season but now the management have started a dialogue with CSKA Moscow over the Croatian international. The 23-year-old is admired by the management for his ability to cover multiple roles given he can play both as an winger and as a second striker, but he is most comfortable as a playmaker.
Vlasic’s contract runs until 2024 which is ample protection for the Russian Premier League side, but built into the deal is a release clause of €35m valid only for clubs from abroad. However, is has emerged that CSKA could also settle for a slightly lower figure.
Contacts are in progress in search of an agreement, with directors Ricky Massara and Paolo Maldini working to seal a deal on the basis of a loan with option to buy. The negotiation has just begun, but there is time to reach the finish line.

I don’t know about this guy. He doesn’t have great stats or an amazing playing style. I feel like he’s just another Calhanoglu. I don’t think he’s an upgrade really, but I hope I’m wrong.
Technically and tactically, he is very suitable for Milan style of play. He is fast and can start to attach from any areas of the field. What he has shown from his last two seasons in CSKA, he was very consistent. He is also just 23 years old and still has a room for improvement. I think his price also not too high for his quality.
