CM: Milan in pole position to secure highly-rated playmaker on a free transfer

By Isak Möller -

Milan are always looking for opportunities on the market, especially with the summer window around the corner as there will be many free agents. Otavio is one of the player’s on the Rossoneri’s wish list, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working on the signing of the attacking midfielder. His contract with Porto will expire in the summer and it doesn’t look like he will sign a new deal with the club.

From what is filtering from Casa Milan, the Rossoneri are in pole position to land the 26-year-old on a free transfer this summer. There are other teams interested as well, but Milan find themselves in an advanced position.

In an interview with MilanNews, the Portuguese journalist David Pereira (Diário de Notícias) spoke about Otavio’s potential move to Italy and he labelled it as a ‘great deal’ for Milan.

“He could be a good signing for AC Milan, although I wouldn’t dare to say that Otavio is stronger than Calhanoglu. Otavio will expire at the end of the season and is one of Porto’s best players.

“He is a technical player but he is also aggressive, he can playing in different positions, also in midfield and on the flanks. Anyone who catches him will make a great deal,” he stated.
