Another source is now reporting that AC Milan are admirers of AZ Alkmaar star Tijjani Reijnders and are weighing up a summer move.
According to Calciomercato.com, Reijnders’ name has been on Milan’s list for some time and scouts have been watching his development, but Bologna, Napoli, Ajax, Fiorentina and a couple of English clubs are also keen on him.
Reijnders is one of the most interesting profiles in Dutch football, a talent who exploded this year with AZ Alkmaar as they finished fourth place in the Eredivisie and reached the semi-finals of the Conference League.
The 24-year-old plays as a box-to-box midfielder or an attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1, having amassed 8 goals and 11 assists this season, which helped him win AZ’s player of the season award and earn his first call-up with for the Netherlands.
He has been compared to Teun Koopmeiners who is currently shining with Atalanta, and Reijnders has a contract expiring in 2027 after he extended it last January.
While he is fine in Alkmaar, if a call from a big club were to arrive, he would take it into consideration. At the moment the price is close to €10m, slightly less than what Atalanta paid to AZ Alkmaar for Koopmeiners, which was around €14m.
Thats more like it. I’ve been missing a good dutch, or 3, players in Milan.
Get them while they’re young and cheap
I use to watch his highlight, he is good enough. He can score with both legs, love him so much.
Yep good idea. While they are at it in AZ they should look into Jesper Karlsson. He would be a proper back up for Leao. A different kind of left midfielder but very skilled and can produce both goals and assists.
I remember saying to get Koopmeiners last year (and even the year before that) as his stats didn’t show how he actually played. He’s has potential to become a great complete midfielder. And would have been relatively cheaper.
Another name we’ve never heard of. That’s why this mercato will be unpredictable. There are probably so many players being looked at whose names hadn’t been linked.
