CM: Milan leadership in full support of Pioli – the two reasons they chose to stick with him

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan leadership have full and total confidence in the work of head coach Stefano Pioli after a stellar 2020 thus far, a report claims.

It is perhaps no surprise to hear such news given that Milan have only been beaten twice in the calendar year so far and are currently on an 18-game unbeaten run, having won six games out of six to begin the 2020-21 campaign.

It is easy to forget though that up until the end of July it seems as though the Rossoneri would be on a completely different path to the one they are on at the moment, as Ralf Rangnick was seemingly lined up to come in and assume an omnipotent position.

According to Calciomercato.com, Elliott Management and CEO Ivan Gazidis decided to give continuity to the current project by keeping Pioli as the head coach, as was revealed at a meeting between the club’s management and journalists at San Siro on Thursday.

The reasons for this are two fold: firstly there is the evident growth of the team on the field in terms of results and performances, but also for the human and technical qualities shown by Pioli during the difficult months that Covid has brought.
