AC Milan look set to invest heavily in a new striker this summer for several reasons. Today, a report has offered some details about the thoughts of the club and who may be leading the race.
For several reasons, investment into a new number nine is pivotal for Milan in the upcoming summer mercato. The primary reason is that there are still no guarantees regarding Olivier Giroud’s future, and even if there were if he were to stay at the club, he would not be the starting striker.
Therefore, there is a need to invest in a new striker, which the Rossoneri are aware of, and, as a result, they have been evaluating their candidates for some time now. As Calciomercato.com reports, it seems they are down to their favoured three.
Firstly, Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutchman has piqued the interest of the Rossoneri for several months now. However, several other clubs are circling Bologna for his services – Bayern Munich remain interested due to their clause, but several Premier League clubs also have an interest.
Additionally, Viktor Gyokeres is highly respected and could be the man to take the Diavolo forward. His goal record this season has impressed several clubs across Europe, but his €100million release clause could be a stumbling block.
Benjamin Sesko also remains a strong choice. The Rossoneri believe he is a complete option, and whilst contact has not been made between the club and RB Leipzig, if they are unsuccessful in their chase for Zirkzee, the Slovenian will likely be the next port of call.
Thank God the penalty merchant from the Uber Eats league isn’t mentioned anymore.
I would go for Sesko. His Bundesliga scoring rate stands at a goal per 131 minutes, a promising return for a 20-years-old. Zirkzee’s goal return in the Serie A stands at a goal per 219 minutes, including 2 penalties. At 22 years of age, he is not fit for a centre forward. Instead, he would be better as a second striker or winger. Gyokeres a has very good rate, but at 100 mln he is not reachable for Milan.
Even though i wouldnt mind zirkzee in ac milan i do agree as sesko would be my first pick as well. I would keep grioud on top of that for an extra season as well and jovic as well. It would be a strong attack and sesko would have a year to get acquainted to the league and high expectations of a club milans stature.
Don’t forget the likes of Guirassy, Dia, Jonathan David. I wouldn’t exclude any of them knowing this management.
Jonathan David is the best
Why?
He is better than all other targets
You don’t know ball
