CM: Milan offered chance to provide escape route for Chelsea man – the club’s stance

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign Olivier Giroud from Chelsea in January, a report claims, along with rivals Inter.

The Frenchman has found himself behind both Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi in the pecking order under Blues boss Frank Lampard so far this season.

According to Calciomercato.com, it is for this reason that he has asked his agents to find him a new club, and the idea of him ending up in Italy is becoming an increasingly viable one.

His motives are clear: he wants to leave London – after 7 and a half years – because he wants to play and become a protagonist again in the hopes of getting a call-up for France ahead of next year’s European Championships.

As a result, the 33-year-old former Arsenal man has been offered to Inter and Milan by agent Michael Manuello, but the two clubs currently have other priorities, the report adds.
