AC Milan have made Benfica starlet Florentino Luis their primary target to reinforce the midfield before the window shuts, a report claims.
We reported on Sunday that contacts are underway with Benfica for Florentino but that the Portuguese side, for now, are not open to a loan deal. Milan which would like to sign him on the basis of an 18-month loan with the right of redemption, we learned through our mercato correspondent Vito Angele.
Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo previously reported that Florentino has a €120m release clause, plus there is competition from Manchester United and Serie A rivals Roma.
And according to the latest from Calciomercato, Boban and Maldini are ready to make a concrete move for the 20-year-old having held talks.
Benfica and the entourage of the midfielder are awaiting an official offer, which should be an 18-month loan with an obligation to buy.
The Primeira Liga leaders want €5million for the loan and a €40million price inserting for the obligation to buy, while Milan are thinking of lower figures.
Maldini and Boban are aware that Florentino is not a first choice of coach Bruno Lage which could work in their favour, and talks on Monday could provide the turning point.
