CM: Milan contact Ramadani about last-minute solution for Jovic – the situation

AC Milan have made contact with agent Fali Ramadani to discuss Luka Jovi and see if a late move can be found for the Serbian striker.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri are keen to sell Jovic before the transfer window ends as they feel there is enough cover in attack and there is a chance of signing Tammy Abraham from AS Roma.

Milan cannot justify bringing Abramam in whilst Jovic is still at the club along with Alvaro Morata and Noah Okafor, but the former Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt striker is surplus to requirements.

The fact that Paulo Fonseca chose to start with Okafor rather than Jovic against Parma when Morata was out injured spoke volumes.

Milan have asked Ramadani to find a landing spot for his client and there is interest from Spain, Turkey and the Netherlands.

The ball is in the player’s court because if he chooses to push a move through, it shouldn’t be hard to complete. If he digs his heels in, then Milan are left with no choice but to keep him and not sign Abraham.

The belief is that Jovic would like to stay at Milan and compete for his place but the writing appears to be on the wall.

  1. Why are we so worried about a new/backup striker we need a new cam Loftus cheek shows he isn’t that anymore, I think Gomes would be perfect and he’s already proved himself under Fonseca

    1. I don’t think Jovic is the long term plans and another season with limited minutes risks another origi situation. Better sell now or switch formations. Selling is easier for sure.

  2. Ibra’s masterclass. The self-styled lion who thinks he’s a god is nothing more than Cardinale’s pet poodle.

Anyone who thinks some kind of signings will improve the squad is hallucinating. Those are symptomatic approaches to a pathological problem. Milan has serious issues. Management is clueless and it seems there’s apathy in the squad. How do you revive enthusiasm? I think Ibra’s ego is rubbing some players the wrong way.

    1. I think you may be on to something about player enthusiasm, especially the stars. The only saving grace is that Fonseca seems to try new things when something didn’t work in the previous game. I hope he will get it right this weekend instead of playing Musah at RB and Leao on the right or some weird crap like that.

      1. One way to fix “the enthusiasm of stars” is to actually get better players and play them. If the starts won’t perform, the new guys will play. Simple.

  3. I find it rather disrespectful if they are actively trying to force him out of the club after joining last season and then renewing this summer. Its not the right way to treat people like they are cattle and regardless if he has some deficiencies he actually has been of great value considering he came for free and doesn’t have a huge salary.

    1. How to bring a player in the middle of the field without being Italian? Isma has no offers, which means that Jovic is redundant in case Abraham comes. He would be a third striker with very little chance of playing. I don’t know how you don’t understand that. It’s not about the treatment, it’s about the possibilities.

      1. I do understand that there is a quota but it doesn’t change the fact that I do find it disrespectfull towards him as he actually roughly has a goal/assist pr. full match played. I seriously doubt Abraham can match that so yeah I stand by every syllable i wrote.

        1. I’m not getting into who is better. I think Abraham can provide more as a striker next to Luka, who I like. They signed a contract and that is not a guarantee in any club that they will stay to play. In case they get 3 million for him, that’s a capital gain. Everything is seen through it.

          1. That’s also fair enough and we doesn’t have to agree but there is also a human aspect in things. I’m 45 so there is no chance I will ever have the joy to play for Milan but if I wasn’t a fan of a club and could see a modus operandi of discarding players so easily then I might actually reconsider offers and join other clubs instead because its good for people to have some stability in the life and moving clubs and country constantly wont help there in my view. Obviously a football career isn’t completely stable to live but I cant really see what he should have done much differently than he already did as he also arrived out of shape and took some time get up in form but after that he did more than reasonable in fact compared to minutes played last season he was one of our best performed and I dont see any issues in having some attackers with different characteristics.
Obviously If Abraham joins us there should be a genuine wish to stay and fight for his role in the team.

    2. Agreed. If he doesn’t get better salary from some other club i would understand him staying here and just taking salary. If the club treats him bad he has no obligation to treat them better. I also don’t understand this judging on players by only one played game.

  4. The coach has to be courageous like Thiago Motta. Bench anyone who is u serious. Anyone! Be it Leao or Theo. Do not be afraid to try new players. No one is bigger than the club

  5. These Jovic stories are so stupid it’s quite clear Milan resigned him to be 2/3 striker depending on how the market went. Sure if a suitable offer arrived they would take it, that was probably communicated to him when he re-signed which is why his agents have been talking to clubs. There end of story, we don’t need an article about it every freaking day.
Maybe show some journalist quality and produce more well researched opinion pieces, or maybe some more news on the women’s team but recycling these stories day after day is lame.
I don’t get how so many of you SM staff can openly criticize the product we see redbird put out on the field when this is what you guys produce🤦‍♂️

    1. Haha good effort to rescue the clowns but the Jovic saga has been ridiculous from the beginning. Last minute recruitment on the verge of joblessness, out of form until December, then that infamous and costly red card, then an extension with Zlatan saying not long ago that the team is complete and now they’re trying to get rid of him for another donkey. At this point I’m not even mad with the management it’s just comical and I would be disappointed if they don’t show up at San Siro with red noses this season.

      1. Any particular reason for not mentioning the 9 goals and an assist from predominantly a bench role, including games where he rescued and gained points for the club? Seems wholly disingenuous to completely omit that.

        1. Jovic would be useful IF and that is a big IF – we played in a 2 striker system. All his goals last season came when he was subbed on alongside Giroud. He is not a #9. He cannot lead the line as a target #9 striker is required to do.

That is plain to see. And which is why after one game Okafor took his place and why we just took Tammy on loan. Jovic should have never been resigned UNLESS we were switching formations to a 2 striker system. But since he was free they took a shot. Simple.

  6. So novice played well last season… why replace him with Abraham? Why even get Abraham when our midfield is still our weak spot.

  7. The team plays like trash with no effort so let’s focus on the cheap backup striker who only saw a few minutes of gametime.

  8. This management is a big fking joke.

They loan out Kalulu Adli Pobega, sold potential youngster like Simic & Maldini, but then bought mediocre crap like Emerson.

Now they want to sell Jovic in the last minute who last season helped us with his goals.

Not to mention they exclude Benna from the team too. Fking nuts!
