CM: Milan ready to begin Donnarumma talks – the club’s idea regarding contract and salary

By Oliver Fisher -

It has been an issue that was deliberately postponed until after the summer window closed, but now Gianluigi Donnarumma’s renewal must be tackled head on.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are now ready to accelerate the renewal process of Donnarumma, whose deal expires next June meaning there is the pressure of time.

The transfer market clearly stole the priority of the management, but the summer window is closed and for Maldini and Massara it is time to focus on the Donnarumma operation.

The negotiation with Mino Raiola has not yet started and so far there have been no further chats with the agent, but the club’s plan is clear: a four-year extension (until 2025), rewarding Gigio’s performance with a increase in salary to €8million net per season plus bonuses linked to personal and team targets.

The real problem to be solved, however, always concerns the release clause that Raiola would like to insert in the contract, a move that would guarantee that Gigio can free himself from Milan if their ambitions do not match his.
