CM: Milan ready to open renewal talks for key star as PSG lurk

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are planning to sit down and discuss the renewal of Gianluigi Donnarumma with agent Mino Raiola, a report claims.

The comments from director Zvonomir Boban made the important of Donnarumma very clear; the goalkeeper has apparently become a ‘leader’ in the dressing room despite his young age.

Donnarumma is currently on a deal which runs until 2021, and il Corriere dello Sport recently reported that Milan have no intention of letting that run into the final year.

The same outlet also suggested though that the Rossoneri could even offer Donnarumma a new deal on a lower salary due to his current €6m-a-year salary.

Now, Calciomercato.com have provided an update by stating that renewal talks will take place ‘in the coming weeks’, but that Milan have no intention of raising his aforementioned salary.

However, it cannot be ruled out that Raiola uses interest from other clubs as leverage and demands a pay rise, while it is possible that PSG could return with fresh interest next summer.
