CM: Milan rejected 12 offers for young forward during the summer – Pioli is convinced

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan received a number of different loan offers for young forward Daniel Maldini over the summer but rejected them all, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have high hopes regarding the future of Maldini, who is of course the son of technical director and former captain Paolo Maldini and celebrated his 19th birthday on Monday.

The Primavera star made his first competitive start for Milan during the Europa League Play-Off game against Rio Ave in Portugal but perhaps showed he wasn’t quite ready to lead the line in such an important game, but nonetheless there is the expectation that he could make it at Milan.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan made a clear choice in the summer transfer window to keep Maldini Jr. rather than consider letting time leave. Two Serie A teams came forward to try and sign him on loan including Spezia, as well as at least ten Serie B teams.

However, the Rossoneri management responded with a sharp no as head coach Stefano Pioli and the rest of the leadership are convinced by the idea of keeping him at Milanello to learn and develop.
