CM: Milan remain attentive after Arsenal star’s latest social media episode

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain observant over the situation regarding the future of Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to a report.

Xhaka is currently on rocky ground at Arsenal following an altercation with supporters last month during which he fired expletives at sections of the crowd who cheered his substitution.

He was subsequently stripped of the club captaincy, and links with a move to Milan followed not long after as the Rossoneri look to add experience and steel to what has proven to be a fragile young squad so far.

Xhaka cost Arsenal €50m when he joined from Monchengladbach (as per the Telegraph) back in 2017, and a report from the Mirror on Sunday claimed that the north London side are ready to offer him a chance to return there, with Newcastle also interested.

There has been yet another incident which has fanned the flames of a difficult relationship after the 27-year-old post a photo on his Instagram profile following the game between Switzerland and Georgia.

“Happiness is when you are satisfied with yourself and you do not need confirmation from others,” he posted, in what appears to be a veiled dig at his critics.

A report on Calciomercato.com references the incident and states that Milan ‘remains at the window, very attentive to the development of the story’.
