AC Milan remain admirers of Benjamin Sesko but his price tag continues to rise with every passing week it seems, according to a report.
According to Calciomercato.com, the Milan management are continuing to look for a new number nine for the attack of the future and while in January a significant economic investment is not expected, next summer is different.
Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D’Ottavio are looking for a centre-forward who can not only alternate with Olivier Giroud (presuming he renews) but more likely be the starter in place of the Frenchman.
There are many names being observed and for some time Benjamin Sesko has been near the top of the list. He scored a brace last night to fire Slovenia (now at the top of the group) to a win against Finland, while he has four goals and two assists in six games for RB Leipzig in the league.
When Paolo Maldini was the technical director the Rossoneri tried to land Sesko, also meeting his agent, but the Red Bull group at the time did not allow negotiations to begin because the move from Salzburg to Leipzig had already been decided for €20m.
Today Milan continue to follow him, but snatching him from the German club will not be easy. His valuation has already risen above €45m euros and there is competition for him from Arsenal and Chelsea who have had more direct relationships with the Austrian owners for some time.
In the meantime, Sesko continues to do what he does best: scoring. A skill that Milan is looking for with great attention for next summer.
Why not 30m
45 million is wishful thinking.
If you wanna know the price of Sesko, just look at the money Atalanta sold Hojlund for.
Both are the same age and both were signed for around 20 mil by Atalanta and Leipzig.
Sesko for 20, Hojlund for 17.
After 1 year and only 9 goals Hojlund got sold for 75 million.
Sesko will go for at least that, especially with EPL clubs in the hunt as well.
Unless RedBird is willing to pay up, unfortunately Sesko is not a realistic option for Milan.
Yep, I’m thinking 80m.
Milan can effort him for 50 mil. Milan got money from lots of Trikot sells and will get some from the championsleague if we can get through the group stage.
55-60M + bonuses.
NOT that I think we would spend 50M on ANY player – BUT if it were somehow to happen I’d rather spend 50M on Sesko than David…We should have just taken Wahi when we had that chance for 35M
