CM: Milan set to meet with agent of Calhanoglu and formalise renewal – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working to secure the renewal of playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu and his stay at the club seems highly likely, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan want to try and continue to build around the players who ended last season so well. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has renewed his contract and the club have rejected offers for both Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer.

Now, work begins on renewing Calhanoglu’s deal, which is set to expire in 2021. The Turkey international’s agent is currently in Italy but has not yet had the opportunity to have a meeting with the management because the operations Sandro Tonali and Brahim Diaz have taken up all the time.

However, the negotiation goes on and there are new updates: in about ten days we will enter the operational phase in order to avoid risks.

Calhanoglu could be in line for a pay rise from his current €2.5m net, but the possible insertion of a release clause along the lines of the one already present in Bennacer’s contract is also being discussed.

However, the sentiment remains the same: Calhanoglu gave Milan an opening to extend the current deadline by another 3 years.
