CM: Milan’s summer plan for Colombo after his goal against the Rossoneri

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan need to decide what their summer plan is for striker Lorenzo Colombo after he scored against his parent club for Monza last weekend.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan have a few options available when it comes to the development of Colombo. He had a good season on loan at Lecce in 2022/23, but he has not hit the same heights at Monza.

Despite that, he scored when Monza beat Milan 4-2 at the weekend and it has led to speculation about what his next steps are. The Italian could be kept as part of the attack, or he could be loaned out yet again.

The more realistic option, though, is that he will be used as a makeweight for Milan to sign one of their targets in the summer transfer window.

Torino showed some interest in him when Milan were trying to sign defender Alessandro Buongiorno in the January transfer window, but the deal did not get off of the ground. That could certainly be explored, especially given both players are represented by Beppe Riso.

Similarly, Milan could try to include him in a deal for Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee, who appears to be Milan’s first choice target. It is thought that Colombo is worth around €15m now, which is not to be sniffed at.

  1. Cashout or use both Colombo and Maldini as make weight for a better deal, they need not comeback and sit on the bench. Least I forget, add Pobega to any potential deal too.

    1. of course they will sell such Colombo, Maldini, Pobega, Calabria, Simic, Nasti, Chaka.. they will end-up in club like Inter, Juve or Roma as squad players.
for Moncada & Gery, over-hype/ one season wonder youngster from France & US is more shiny.
Billy, Ambro, Tassotti will be sold early too if it wasn’t Berlusconi, Galliani & Braida.
star players won us games, squad players won us league…
