AC Milan are expected to sign a new deputy to Theo Hernandez and they have their sights on an FC Basel defender, a report claims.
According to Calciomercato.com, Riccardo Calafiori is the name that has enchanted the Milan management. He is a flexible and young full-back and would count as home-grown given that he came through the academy at Roma.
Milan are planning to initiate preliminary contacts with the Swiss club to understand the figures of a potential operation. One thing that must be mentioned is that Roma will get 40% of the proceeds from a future resale.
Talks are expected in the next few days, given that Milan will first have to untie the knot concerning the future of Fodé Ballo-Touré too, with Fulham, Nice and Bologna all having expressed interest.
The Rossoneri have no intention of making a capital loss and are awaiting an offer of €4m from the Premier League side in particular. Then, they will try for Calafiori.
I like this signing. Italian at 21 year old and he will count as a home-grown player. Will get chances to step in and show his worth when Hernandez is resting or suspended.
