CM: Milan want €15m Salzburg star – the ‘new Milinkovic-Savic’ convinces Gazidis

AC Milan are ready to join Lazio in the race for one of Ralf Rangnick’s pupils in Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan have already started planning and thinking about the future, obviously including next season. CEO Ivan Gazidis has dictated the line to follow: young, talented and hungry players – and with the future of Franck Kessie in the balance Szoboszlai’s candidacy has advanced strongly.

The 19-year-old is one of the most coveted talents around Europe and his performances this season – in which he has amassed four goals and seven assists in all competitions – has attracted the interest of top clubs.

Fabio Paratici of Juventus has had the Hungary international’s name on his wish list, while Lazio and Inter are also mentioned as having interest.

Szoboszlai has been likened to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic due to his dribbling, running, shooting and ability to score, and he perfectly fits the model of player that Rangnick would like to bring to Milan.

In addition, his salary is low and he would only command a fee of around €15million due to the fact his deal expires in 2022, figures to which Gazidis would give the go ahead.
