CM: Milan watch on as Atalanta star explodes – 50% clause presents an opportunity

AC Milan are watching on and rubbing their hands as Matteo Pessina continues his exciting development at Atalanta, a report claims.

Pessina netted a brace last night during La Dea’s 3-1 Coppa Italia semi-final second leg victory over Napoli which sees them reach the final of the competition where they will meet Juventus.

The 23-year-old is developing well under Gian Piero Gasperini who has him playing in a system that has brought the best out of him and a future in the national team could beckon given Roberto Mancini has already called him up.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s latest for Calciomercato.com, Napoli showed interest last summer as they obtained information about him after his excellent season at Hellas Verona on loan, without then making a concrete offer.

Milan have always been attentive to Pessina’s progress and now his price is destined to rise because the Percassi family rarely sell of their jewels. As part of the deal that saw Andrea Conti move to San Siro, Pessina went to Atalanta but the Rossoneri obtained a 50% resale clause.

Therefore, Milan have the opportunity to buy the playmaker at half price and the management has always remained vigilant and informed on the matter. His excellent recent form opens up to new scenarios with many clubs interested, but Milan have a big joker in hand.
