CM: Milan watching €35m Italy midfielder’s contract situation closely

AC Milan are among the teams interested in signing Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci, a report claims, and there will be crucial talks regarding a renewal soon.

Calciomercato.com report that Ricci has attracted the attention of major Italian clubs thanks to his excellent performances both with the Italian national team and with Torino, ones which have continued under the new head coach Paolo Vanoli.

His recent performances with Luciano Spalletti’s Italy have further confirmed his potential, arousing the interest of several top European clubs. In addition to Milan, Inter and Napoli have also expressed strong interest in the Torino talent.

Aware of the growing interest around the 23-year-old, Torino president Urbano Cairo has already started talks with Ricci’s entourage to extend his contract with the club, which is currently set to expire in June 2026.

The midfielder is at the centre of a renewal plot that would extend his contract until 2029. The club has reportedly set a base price of €35m to sell and that is without an extension, which would give them further leverage in negotiations with any interested club.

Ricci can play both as a deeper-lying midfielder in a three-man midfield or a double pivot, as well as a bit further forward as a box-to-box player.

  1. If you want him contact his agent know and tell him to not extend in order to make the transfer easier. If Ricci is smart he wouldnt extend anyway. Cairo is known for not letting players go and ruining their careers.

  2. Bennacer -> Ricci

    RLC -> Casadei (if RLC can’t develop into double-pivot)

    Reijnders-sub -> Lewis Ferguson/Liberalli? (latter should be tested more often in senior team)

    Calabria -> Kayode (if Calabria can’t make a come-back)

    Tammy -> game changer ST not some eurostore BS (although Tammy did start well, but we have no buy option)

        1. it’s the “lesser than” -character that breaks the post as the forum thinks you’re inserting html-tags and I think it drops everything after that character.

  3. Unless there’s some sort of edict that the club need to play more Italians, this isn’t going to happen. I’m pretty sure Moncada is out at the end of the season because of the mess he’s made with the midfield, and I doubt the next sporting director is going to have a €100 million budget to play with. The spending over the past 2 seasons isn’t and cannot be the norm.

  4. 😭😭😭😭 Milan buying a 35M player in 2025? Stop joking…they can get 2 useless players for that money and continue our new tradition. Buy a lot but really bad..

    1. He should go back to be a scout only… he was decent and have some interesting finds, but the responsibility to choose and negotiate is apparently too much for him.

      Just go back and do what you best at.

    2. Must wait until his contract expire. He is good only as head scout , nothing more. Better bring DS that have same quality with galliani,marotta or giuntoli
