AC Milan were once again let down by their reserve options last night as more points were dropped in the race for the top four after the 1-1 draw against Cremonese.
Calciomercato.com report how the four Belgian players that were in the starting line-up struggled to show their value, with a ‘non-existent contribution’ from Divock Origi, a ‘depressing’ Charles De Ketelaere and a ‘bland’ Aster Vranckx.

Alexis Saelemaekers was the brightest of the bunch and he got a goal taken away from him for a very tight offside call, but then the only real opportunity to score fell to De Ketelaere after a crazy back pass from Meité, but the 22-year-old was stopped by Carnesecchi as he attempted to round him.
Carnesecchi and Chiriches held the fort on their own at times but they were able to defend in order given the Rossoneri’s lack of speed. Pioli moved Origi to the left while using Diaz and De Ketelaere down the centre to try and confuse Cremonese, albeit without success.
Origi and De Ketelaere came off first, then it was Vranckx and Saelemaekers who made way, as the Belgian quartet were unable to inspire Milan to three points that seemed routine on paper.
I disagree for the majority. Origi is just simply not good enough to keep it simple especially considering he’s supposed to be the experienced guy in the tough situations while I thought Vranckx and CDK played well. It’s a shame Pioli is so stubborn and keeps Diaz on even though he was playing so poorly and substitutes CDK who actually completed the most dribbles out of anyone in that match
One more thing to add is another flop of the match for me has to be kalulu, I mean come on what is this guy doing this season. I get he has had his decent moments but we’ve seen it so many times that he might be good enough to be a RB but certainly not a CB as he always crumbles. Today was a prime example as it was clear Thiaw was right ahead of okereke but kalulu tried to intervene and caused chaos out of a situation I think Thiaw would’ve handled. We’ve seen these mistakes from kalulu before such as at the start of the season where he got embarrassingly sent on skates against okafor in the group stage that at this stage I don’t think we will be a part of next season

Yep. Not CB as he cannot be trusted. Bench players nowadays. Calabria is in 1000x better shape than him. I’d even rather play Gabbia as CB than Kalulu these days.
GiGi, I agree with both your comments. One liners…
Kessie – Loss of Milan’s main ball winning & tackling midfielder was not replaced. Milan doesn’t need Kessie but we do need someone who can play that role in midfield.
Origi – Not talented enough. Period.
Zlatan – Injuries adding up.
Rebic – Who? Used to be a good player. A ghost today.
CDK – Playing in wrong position. I don’t think he’ll make it as a playmaker.
Kalulu – Not the Kalulu of last year. He’s struggled this year.
Kjaer – Has slowed down significantly. Loss of speed hurts. Good physically but not the best on the ball.
Vrancx – Has potential and is good physically but isn’t close to Milan’s level at this time.
Dest – Not mentally or emotionally ready for a top league.
Florenzi – Good player but too slow and quite injury prone.
Pobega – Not mature yet but showing solid progress. Still looks awkward.
