CM: Milan’s new priority on the market after sealing €35m De Ketelaere deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will soon be able to officially announce the signing of Charles De Ketelaere on a five-year contract, but Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara cannot rest.

Calciomercato.com confirms the reports of other sources by stating that Milan will pay €32m fixed for the Belgium international plus €3m in potential bonuses. He is expected in Italy today to begin his medical and to sign a contract with the Rossoneri until 2027 worth €2.2m net per season.

With the signing of De Ketelaere pretty much wrapped up, Maldini and Massara will now make their next priority to recruit a new central midfielder. At the top of the list is the name of Renato Sanches and a meeting with his agent Jorge Mendes is already scheduled for the next few days.

The Rossoneri and Lille have an agreement on the basis of a €15m transfer fee (including bonuses) and while PSG remain on pole to sign him, Milan have not lot confidence. In the background, as an alternative, is the name of Carney Chukwuemeka of Aston Villa.
